Restoran Ban Lee Siang at Jalan Ong Kim Wee. Business hours: 5.30 pm to 12.30 am.
A visit to Melaka will not complete without eating the famous satay celup said to be originated from Melaka and claimed to be the only place for it. It is just like the normal steamboat or 'lok lok' but the only difference is the foods are dipped in satay sauce. The sauce is a bit spicy and together with high temperature, it gives extra hot and spicy sensation.
All these is only costs at RM 0.50 per stick. Isn't it cheap?
See how the vegetables are folded into a ball shape. Accordingly to our expert, they take the longest time to be cooked and if possible, we should unfold the vegetables for faster cooking process.
A must to order is the bread which also costs only Rm 0.50 for each plate. Best eaten when dipped with the hot and spicy satay sauce. The bread will somehow reduce the heat and thus enable you to taste the satay sauce. Between, my camera works very well when there is a good lighting.
Another a must to pick/eat is the fried yau char kwai. I must say that dipping it in the satay sauce gives you a great taste. It leaves you with a good memory. We took the yau char kwai stick after stick. Forgot to mention, it is a self service based in which you have the choice to pick various foods from the big refrigerator.
If not mistaken, 41 normal sticks and 13 red sticks. The red sticks shall cost RM 0.60 each. Bear in mind, the condition that time for all of us is very full.
There is actually 3 restaurants next to each other along the shophouses. Just for a guide, these restaurants are located along the main road.
