AIMST University Hostel Accommodation

Upon reaching AIMST University, we were asked to fill a declaration form which if not mistaken, on our health and safety. We were divided into groups of 10 different colours. After filling the form, we then proceed to register according to our designated group of which we were given a red goodies bag and also a name tag bearing our name. We were told to wear the name tag with lanyard at all times during the stay in the University.

mingomingo @ PLUS expressways

This was perhaps my first time to hear such an ice cream brand. Little did I know 'mingomingo' is a franchise business under the Kasturi Klasik Trading Sdn Bhd which is located at Desa Melawati. If you guys don't know where is Desa Melawati, let me enlightened you on the previous first arson attack of church which happened to be at this area.

Since we wanted a light meal, we ordered soft ice cream which is priced at RM 1 and sweet corns aka 'jagung lemak manis'. I didn't know that they actually put milk inside the sweet corn until the staff asked us whether we would like to add it in ours. However, the sweet corns was too watery with lots of diluted milk. I guess this was my worst experience ever in eating sweet corns. After being influenced by Thien Jian, we also ordered the egg sandwiches. Too bad, I didn't even taste it before it ended up in the dustbin as I was a bit full and was well fed at AIMST University. BTW, I haven't pay to her yet. Keep it within us ('',).

McD Breakfast

In this modern era, when one mentioned about having a breakfast, the first thought would be McD Breakfast. It seemed that it is now a trend to go McD so frequent that people just can't live without it. This had replaced the conventional Chinese food courts which served the soup mee, dry mee, curry mee, wantan mee and etc.

For kids, the main attractions for them will be the playground and the free toys in kids' meals. Though the breakfast meal doesn't offer free toys, they just feel excited to be at McD. For teenagers, they just want an air conditioned place to dine in whereas for adults, the main attraction for them is the premium coffee.

McD Breakfast menu

I was quite surprised to see flock of people coming in to McD to have their breakfast. The queue seemed to be never end. I must say that the branding & marketing of McD are very successful. Apart form that, the innovation in the menu hits to the needs of the consumers. People now tend to eat less but aimed for good and healthy foods. Those days, I always think that the Chinese food courts is better than the fast food restaurants such as McD. However, when you compared lets say, sausage McMuffin with a bowl of wantan mee soup, how much oil & MSG you consumed in wantan mee soup?

Nyonya Colors @ Mid Valley

Photobucket

This place was recommended by my friend. I happened to walk passed this place many times but thought it was just another ordinary restaurant and thus yet to have a chance to dine in. Thanks for my friend or otherwise I will miss out a simple yet great interior design and setting.

I guessed these are the herbs and spices used during the baba & nyonya time.

Sukuk 1 Malaysia (S1M) with 5% per annum profits

Great news to all Malaysians! The Ministry of Finance will be issuing Sukuk 1 Malaysia (S1M) 2010) under Financial Funding Act 1983 with a total amount of 3 billion on 21 June 2010. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) had been appointed to issue the S1M on behalf of the Ministry of Finance.

Let’s have a look to the key features of this plan as issued by Ministry of Finance on 10 May 2010.

This S1M is sort of like fixed deposit but this is a Government savings bond with guaranteed 5% per annum fixed profits for maturity period of 3 years. The current FD rates among local banks for 12 months (1 year) is about 2.8% whereas for 36 months (3 years) is about 3%. Thus, the 5% return is definitely attractive to the investors.

Penang Recipe @ 1 Utama

Looking for food but bored of fast food restaurants? . Let's try the Penang Recipe located at 1 Utama.

I am aware that most girls do prefer Asian style restaurants rather than fast food restaurants such as McD or KFC. In addition, they prefer small servings and less oil, less fat and less rice which is totally different as for males. Hence, this place suits to the XX gene bearers.

DAP Wong Ho Leng wins SIBU

Official result:
  1. DAP Wong Ho Leng             18,845 votes
  2. SUPP Robert Lau Hui Yew   18,447 votes
  3. Independent Narawi Haron      232 votes
  4. Majority                                          398 votes
  5. Total turnout                               59.9 %
 (Source: Malaysia Insider)

OMG! Uncle Kit had made the right prediction. He had earlier say only miracle can win the Sibu parliamentary seat. I myself did not ever imagine DAP will win when the total turnout was so poor and after counting of some ballots in the afternoon (during the Thomas Cup Final), BN was leading far away. Miracle does happen and it happens tonight.

(Source: Berita Harian)

The floods today may have affect the total turnout. Can we say it is a bless? If you are one of the voter who face such situation everytime when it rains, do you still believe to the promise made by BN that they will rectify the situation by implementing a flood mitigation programme which cost more than RM1billlion. HEY, people! This should be done YEARS ago and not now. Whatever promised by BN are their obligation to do so and they don’t deserve a vote for that. I’m sure even if you have decided to vote for BN, after underwent hurdles passing the flood to the polling centre, you might just cross at DAP rather than BN. Oh come on.. you don’t face that only on that day but you face it most of the days!

Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen @ Mid Valley

Hey readers! Ever thinking of what to eat in a shopping mall beside the usual KFC and McD which are always packed with homosapiens? Why don't give a try for Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen. This restaurant was established in 1972 in New Orleans before is widely established in various countries in 35 years. As in Malaysia, it is quite a new brand restaurant which only available at limited place.

We decided to give a try as we have been walking past this restaurant for uncountable times but yet to try out the food.

McD Retreat

Heiyo... am writing this short post to make my blog alive from hiatus state. Talking about McD, it is everyone favourite especially during LUNCH hour because the value sets offered are considerably cheap compared to the after lunch hours. However, it is also the most annoying place because it always get crowded and long queue with no seats. I was once need to sit at the kids birthday party room because the Taman Connought branch always full house during peak hours. The interesting part was we had to sit on the short chairs and dining on short tables as well.

Introducing to you my coursemate, Mahmood from Yamen. He is a very rich guy, couldn't recall his father occupation but own a big company back at his country.

Of all, I would say the O & G clerkship was the most interesting whereas the most dislike was Pediatrics and most boring till death was Psychiatric Clerkship. However, I chose IM clerkship as for my viva topic presentation.

Revised Fixed Deposit Rates Among Local Banks as on 1/5/2010

Hey, dear readers! Do you notice that the rates of fixed deposit among local banks had changed since early of March? The revised of the rates was not something unpredictable as the rates as on previous year was way too low with the lowest of 2.00% for 1 month. Correct me if I was wrong, the rate was the lowest ever recorded in history perhaps.

I only noticed the changes towards the end of March when I browse through Maybank2u.com to update my account. After some findings, then only I realised the changes have been made since early of March. In addition, CIMB Bank had actually revised the rates twice and the latest rates is effective from 23 March 2010.

Now, let's have a look on the most updated current rates as on 1 May 2010. Hey, it's LABOUR DAY!! Wishing everyone a HAPPY HOLIDAY! For those who still need to work today, hey, no worry, it's double payments right?
