Wong Kok Char Chan Teng @ Leisure Mall

Lunch time! Anyone? This time we followed Ah Wong to 'taste to feel Hong Kong' at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng.

Wong Kok is sort or like Kim Gary Restaurant both of which serve Hong Kong style foods. However, the difference on these two will be on the prices and food quality. Which one is better? Read on.

For those birthday boy or girl having a meal here, he or she will receive a free complimentary giant size Hong Kong Ice Milk Tea. If you come with 4 or less people, then you will only get the medium milk tea. In contrast, if you come with 5 persons above, then you will get the giant size one and you can share with your friends. Terms and conditions is simply to spend RM 30 in a single receipt and of course bring your IC for verification. The offers valid 3 days before or after birthday. Nice deal?

Today, I would like to recommend you the Set Lunch which is valid from every Mondays to Fridays. On each different days, there will be different sets of promotion. Each set comes with a meal either rice or noodles, choice or Borsh soup or cream soup, Hong Kong style milk tea hot or cold and fruits.

However, on this visit, the waitress told me that I can choose any sets regardless on the promotion days. The value set prices start as low as RM 9.90 to RM 11.90.

The Borsh soup and cream soup were ways too dilute compared to Kim Gary Restaurant. The 'yin yong' or the HK style milk tea (MY FAVOURITE) was good but not as good as compared to Kim Gary Restaurant as well. If I were to give a rating from 1-10 scale, I would give:
  • Borsh/ cream soup : Kim Gary (8) vs Wong Kok (4)
  • HK style milk tea   : Kim Gary (9) vs Wong Kok (7)
If you compared in term or prices, of course Wong Kok Restaurant is cheaper.

Michael & I enjoying the fruits in a 'compromised' way.
